This was from the short lived Circus Vargas indoor tour of 1987. They played a few towns in the Washington, DC area, The center ring was enlarged to 50 feet in diameter to accomodate the steel arena used by Alan Gold, who had 25 cats in the ring, which made it difficult for the liberty act as seen in this photo.
Jimmy, I would like to hear your thoughts on why did Circus Vargas have a short indoor season in 1987???? Usually Cliff really did it right on anything he did in a big way. Great photos from a great photographer and you have that eye when to snap the shutter at the perfect moment. Harry
We were talking about plumage and bridles the other day. I saw Cathy Hanneford's Camel, Horse & Pony act, (Presented by husband, Brett Carden while she was away.)
The extra hardware certainly makes the act look sharper than without. (Just my humble opinion.) ~frank
