From Rick Pfening

Buckles: Attached find picture of Fred D. Pfening, Jr. and Ward Hall taken on Monday, 2 August, while Ward was in town for the Ohio State Fair. I brought Ward out to the nursing home where dad is rehabing his busted hip, and we spent an hour and a half jackpotting. Needless to say, a good time was had by all. I think they look pretty good for a couple of octogenarians. Hope you can put this on your blog. Fred Pfening III

Wanted to say Hi Mr.Pfening.I see you are holding court with one of Gibtown's scholars.
Here - here truly the (Kings) of show biz knowledge are now in session.

Great good wishes to two gentlemen I’ve known for at least a combined 80 years! What appreciation, personal knowledge, and acquired knowledge they have of the circus business! To quote an old Adam Forepaugh poster, they are giants among the pygmies!

Gentlemen and scholars both. A dynamic duo like this is hard to find these days. Best wishes to Fred and Ward.

Just back from a Circusless week in Vermont (except for a very short quote from Calvin Coolidge on a plaque) and delighted to see this photo of two of the dearest souls to ever set foot on sawdust. God Bless you gentlemen and thank you both so much for so much.
