Any difference in how the bulls were handled, secured, fed, etc. between show elephant cars and the PARR balloon top cars? Did the handlers remain with the bulls in the car?
Most of them did to feed and water enroute.
As well as the grooms in the horse cars.
Is this the same Minyak that was featured in the GSOE and was she the largest/tallest bull in the group? ~frank
I see Hugo Schmidt in the photo. It reminds me that when he came he came with a girl named Charlotte. I am not sure of the year, probably 1948, At any rate his wife came the next year, had to be 49 and I did make that season. One day Nina Thomas could not find her her husband Harry on the lot. Then it was discoverd that Charlotte was also missing. Well is was quickly put together that Charlotte had run of with Harry and they both blew the show. Nina latter married Merle Evans and many times later the comment was often made on the lot that "Nina opened the gates to Ft. Knox". They really seemed happpy together. We all know how very colorful Nena could talk. I was living in Dallas when Harry was killed. I know he was riding over land, I heard in the elelphant truck and it turned over and he was killed. Most of you would remember what show. I attended his funeral in Dallas. I do not know if Charlotte is still living, but I do remember that they had a son. Didn't he do a wild aminal act later?
