Then this is probably Peter Haupner as I believe he was from Hungary. He defected and was later with the Hanneford riding act in the mid-1970s. Dick Flint Baltimore
It was only 6AM here in Phoenix when I opened the blog... I stand corrected again! Thinking it was Billy and Diana. I'm much better after lunch! ~frank I bow to my elders. :-)
Elders????? Watch it, Frank. You're not exactly eligible for the Sailor Circus anymore yourself! :)
This is, indeed, Peter Hauptner. (I could not think of his name until Dick mentioned it.) As Dick says, Peter later defected and was with the Hanneford riding act for a time. I recall him as a really fine riding equestrian and a nice guy.
Not sure why the act was billed as the Antals. But that's what the Program of Displays says. (And I would never question the program book writer's veracity. I know him very well.)
We would often make up act names if their real name was difficult to pronounce or, even more commonly, when the act was doubling.

The Riding Saxons (The multi-talented Stephenson family, again.) ~frank
Is this Peter Haupner? Or is it the Stephenson act?

No, Frank.
This is The Antals, from Hungary, who took center ring in this display. Flo and Billy Stephenson worked the same display in ring one.
