Elephant Fandango; I remember it well. Exotic showgirls with tambourines; the stuff that puts the icing on the cake. Would this be Don Foote's first elephant number?
a terrific elephant act-Hugo's act really moved...and was full of superb behaviors--front leg, back leg maneuvers, all the great formations--(and of course they opened this edition, the 100th anniv., with a long mount on the front track that was the fantastic, wow-like finale to the toe tapping opening number)---the act ran the whole gamut (tricks you rarely see any more), at a fast tempo, which is the best way to see an elephant act...today's acts seem slow and somewhat tedious in comparison. as a teen traveling with the show that summer and working the seats i got to see the act every day...consistently great--Hugo really knew his stuff...Fred Logan's acts also worked at lightning speed which was great to watch.

Does anyone recall what years the
diamonds in the ring curbs had the
lights working (it must have been
before I was involved in the show)
There were only segments of wiring
& sockets remaining late 60s
