this was one of the only editions of RBBB that i can remember that had decorative (vinyl) ring mats in all 3 rings with the show logo on them in place for the come in. I remember seeing them in the old Boston Garden, looked great.
I recall those 1500 W quartz lights that were added to on the frames over the rings that we always [not me but everyone involved] referred to as the "Feld lights", I guess until thet put in that elaborate lighting scheme that I thought was too much and left too many shadows until finally they would go "full up" and seems that way now. Progress. I always felt funny in the ring in regard to that lighting in Japan. The old days in "Spots" were great.

As I've mentioned before the very
1st thing I did for Big Bertha
was that mirrored ball for Charly
Those are also some of the early
version of track light boxes
That 1st version of the mesh arena
was nasty as it was tough to lay
down into the ring curb due to the
square cable pattern
The 2nd version a few years later
Had all the cables starting out
parallel and becoming a diamond
pattern when pulled to tension
and not only packed much better
but held up for much longer
I thought from the 2nd year on
Charly kept a black shroud on the
mirrored ball until it's use

Jerry,
Weren't those mats red, yellow and blue back ground?
I thought they looked great and made a big visual impact when you entered the arena.
