In addition to the Fan Dance, Sally also did a Bubble Dance with this giant bubble. (She supposedly conceived and developed the Bubble Dance, in part, to cope with the wind while performing outdoors.) |

WHAT and give up show business
When in grade school us wicked little boys had a jingle we would chant:
"Said Billy Rose to Sally Rand,
Do your dance without your fan,
She did her dance without her fan,
Billy rose and Sally ran!"
Odd thing was, we didn't have a clue who either one was.
During the 1940's, Sally was married to Hall of Fame Champion saddle bronc rider Turk Greenough from Red Lodge,Montana,home of many rodeo greats.
I had the pleasure of seeing her do the "fan dance" in New York City,when she was in her sixties!
After two days of carny shots, this is more like it.
