Wonderful folks. Kurt was one of the most amazing, and winning, poker players back in the day, when the Texas Dates were the By God Texas Dates. The King of the blue room he won big every night.

Hanni-Lore Schoppner (Kurt's niece) and Elfie Elkins (Trude's sister).

Kurt first arrived in the USA as part of an outstanding acrobatic/hand balancing duo, "The Harlequins". He arrived the second time as manager of "The Elkin Sisters" which consisted of Trude and Elfie.

Hanni joined the act later; she learned the acrobatic routine via letters from Uncle Kurt.

Why do I know so much? The Darnells did 8 seasons (not consecutively) with my show, Yankee Doodle Circus. Kurt and I spent many great moments backstage talking about show business years ago and present day.
