Charly B. having a smoke at the Bayfront Center--note in back Swede Johnson (former lion trainer turned clown) relaxing on the curb in his clown cop drag. Swede was one big character who trouped
on many mud shows--his wife (Mable?) worked in wardrobe...they were "up there" even then, some 40 years ago;

I've mentioned this on the Blog before but here goes again.

Francis Kitzman had a story that Swede and Tex Orton one winter fed a cat act by keeping some bitch dogs penned up and then slaughtering the boy dogs who came courting.

This must have been on the Russell show where the Kitzmans spent the depression years. They usually wintered in Rollo, MO, and one year in Donna, TX.

The winter in Donna, the Webbs put out a very small unit called Rosselli Bros by the simple expedient of adding an "i" to the trucks and changing the "u" to an "o."

Could that be Henry Schroer

talking to Jackie (visiting)

This might have been around

the time that I built the

1st mirrored ball for Charly

I love this shot of Charly, dapper and handsome, before the weight gain. Gunther was Errol Flynn - all action and adventure, to Charly's Cary Grant was all class and perfection. (At least from a perfoming standpoint.) ~frank
