The George Cardin Circus is jumping overnight (this evening) from some town in Wisconsin to East St. Louis MO...390 miles with a show tomorrow. A few weeks ago they closed in Dallas, TX on a Sunday evening, and had one day off to go to Huron, SD (900 miles), opening on the Tuesday. Most of the time the people on the show only get a fews days notice as to their route. Makes it very difficult to plan vehicle repairs and to have mail forwarded. 3 show days are common...with extended intermissions.
First of all, The show isn't jumping overnight. We are jumping today. The jump is 459 miles, but we don't show until Saturday. As far as the route only being shown a few days in advance, not true. The entire show receives two week route sheets. Having mail forwarded shouldn't be a problem, just have it sent to winter quarters and you won't have to worry. 3 show days are common on the big Shrine runs, but never on one day stands. We haven't had a three show day in over a month. Show time is 2 1/2 hours with about 20 minutes dedicated to intermission. No different than any other building show!

Hows the show going
I will see you in 25 days
GC I stand corrected.
To Jimmy Cole.
Just sounds like business as usual.
However I haven't seen the show for several years and I must say money sure has been spent in regards to lighting and equipment plus show girls and web numbers all added since the last time I worked over there. A definite pleasing upgrade.
I took a few shots in Dallas of the show before they started on the jump you mentioned earlier and will try to get time to post them.
P.S.(They even had someone to open the back door curtain)
