Buckles,
What a great set of pictures your dad took. Keep them coming.
Bob Kitto
I doubt that my Dad took these but he wrote the comments on the back.
Buckles,
I second what Bob Kitto said as a great set of photos.
And that is the best photo ever of Zack. It must have been shot with a 4 by 5 graphic as it is razor sharp.
Was Zack a friendly cuss?????
I always heard that Adkins was the friendly one and great to fans and always wanted a parade.
These photos made my week.

I just read the article about Clyde Beatty by Lane Talburt in the latest CHS "Band Wagon" and it brought back some memories about some of the people mentioned.
Pete the Porter, had a very large stomach and would fall asleep on almost anything because he had been awake all night as watchman on CBCB. I heard that he joined the Barnum and Bailey agregation when he was 13 and ended up as a RR car porter there, hence the knickname.
One time when I was playing in the band, he asked me if I would buy him some Swiss chese. He had a really bad speech impediment and it sounded like he said "st swi ch"
luckly, Shorty Hinkel had his hearing aid on and was there and told me to by some Swiss chese. I asked "how much" and Shorty said about a pound. I bought the chese and was paid when I brought it back.
George Scott was also mentioned and as I recall, he was paid about $35 in 1964, which he used to gamble with Banjo, in the Blue Room and of course lost it all.
Roger can probably add some other interesting comments about these 2 very loyal employees.
Great article, Lane. Maybe we can meet again sometime in the future.
Remember having supper with you in Iowa.
