Hubert was still in fine fettle 10 years after this Cole show shot, when I last saw him work on the Elvis Presley tour of 1957. Also co-starring in the first half of the show was stand-up comic Jackie Carter. There was a short intermission.

Ever the ultimate showman with his "Hillbilly", Colonel Parker had Elvis driven in, slowly arriving behind the curtain in a shiny, black Lincoln limo. Parker's introduction alone had the girls at fever pitch, swooning and shrieking. When Elvis bounded onstage, as happened everywhere for him then, the building rocked in pandemonium. He had about 15 top hits at the time, and his hour-long set proved him the hottest act of the age.

Castle told me he intensely disliked Elvis, his music, his hairstyle, his riotous choreography, and his world of money. He especially hated his own low spot on the bill.
"Elvis the Pelvis," he snorted. "They shoulda named him Enos."

Roger,
Sounds like sour grapes to me, but money can do that to a fellow sometimes. As luck will have it, you and I don't have to worry about too much money.
