Ringling red train arrives in Baltimore (April 5)

For many on the train, the first task after the train has been spotted is to set up their satellite dish. The jump from Fairfax to Baltimore is a short one but aggravated by a long haul for the wagons to the train parked in Washington, D.C. The train was not loaded until after sunrise on Monday (same as last year) but the red show chose to move about five wagons overland to Baltimore, saving further delay and allowing pre-rig to begin. With fewer wagons to fill the flats, this also meant that many of the poles were hooked to their adjacent wagons and unloading went much faster than usual in Baltimore once the train arrived about 6 p.m..

In an email today from Mike Naughton, he noted that the two versions of the globe logo show up in this shot. The new version made its debut with the "Circus of Dreams" edition in 2006.
The two coaches seen in this photo are for concession people.
