Conklin All-Canadian Shows 1942 #7

Mac MacDonald trained these elephants for Bud Anderson
in 1939. They had been imported by the Cole Show in 1937
but for some reason had grown up in ignorance.
It was Mac's first job as a trainer so they more or less educated
each other.
My dad mentioned that the two elephants doing the cross mount
always locked trunks, as seen above.
Years later I asked Mac about that and he laughed saying, "Christ
I almost forgot about that. I don't know what I was thinking!"
