It was the same on March 8th, 2010; as you can see from the photos it was sunny and it was indeed into the 60's. In other years it was "fun" taking pics through snow or rain. I think it was the first year I did this it was somewhere around 18 degrees. The big cats were in open cages on the flats and you could see their breath billowing out as they paced. Also, then up to last year, one could walk completely around the train here in NJ taking all the photos one might want to. This new siding is neat, almost pristine, no worries about mud, huge puddles and things hidden in dirt that could injure animals feet and is totally inaccessible. It goes without saying a certain father and son were thought of on monday and missed.
If anyone deserves an A+ in record keeping and recording, in particular Circus, history, it's you and your Dad. Gratefully appreciated by more than you could ever imagine I'm sure.
in the 70s we always at least 18 or 20 on each unit--not sure how many Gunther had. In 74-75 we had three herds, Red Blue and CW, total 60-plus, right Buckles?
in 72 I was the announcer on Dory's show and we had as many as 35 touring at one point--maybe 12-15 actually working in show.

Buckles, How many bulls were on the show 16 years ago?
Twenty three.
23 to 9.
Must be the lawyers fees that are eating into the budget.

Are there even that many elephants of performing age left in the country?
