Lima is a Grant's zebra ( now scientifically called Equus quagga boehmi but formerly Equus burchelli granti.)

You can tell by the striping pattern, very vivid, all the way to the hooves with no shadow stripes on the haunches. These are very common in zoos and circuses. They still exist in great numbers on the plains of East Africa - - Serengeti et al.

The animal takes its name from James Augustus Grant (1827 - 1892), a Scotchman who was an early explorer of eastern Africa.

Here they seem to have Lima under control. I believe the chap with the glasses is Tom Ford, the Red's General Manager.

Reports of the runaway were rather confusing. However, he seems to have gotten away twice. The first was a jaunt around streets near Philips Arena. They got him back to this position near the backyard (Note the RBBB wagon in the upper left background).

But he got loose again and took a more southerly tour. That's when he worked his way over to the downtown connector, some ten blocks away. From all that appears he went up the Edgewood Ave. "on" ramp onto the Interstate and ran south on it until he was cornered at the next off ramp onto M. L. King Jr. Dr.

Is that a saddle on his back?
