The smiley face would be more appropriate in a month or so during a week of muddy lots.
For the folks that do not know this is Brian LaPalme, a performer and ringmaster for many years on various shows.
Now on Kelly Miller Circus.
Also a great friend of mine for many years.
I wish I was there in Brownsville, Texas to taste this.
Have a great season Kelly Miller Circus.
I hope to catch the show somewhere along the saw dust trail.
Harry
It is my understanding that they are starting out in the mud.
Buckles,
It is very appropriate, as we are in a week of a very muddy lot here in Brownsville!
Not only is Brian getting rave reviews from everyone with the show for his excellent talents in the cookhouse, but he is also "wowing" our audiences with his fantastic fire act.
Jim... Is the 'fire' act somehow connected to the 'cookhouse'?
Chef's whites, head covering, thermometer...ready for the health inspector!
Ryan,
If you saw as much mud as Mr. Woodcock, you could see his reason for posting that lol. I'm sure he has seen miles upon miles of it in his career. Mr. Woodcock, what was the worst lot you have encountered in your career?
With Kelly Miller years ago we had the light plant buried to the frame on one of those gumbo lots.
D.R. was a whiz at using various kinds of leverage and having already tried with elephants and failed, he wrapped a chain around the front axle, ran it to a snatch block on a big tree and from there to the shows tractor.
He said that it would now move and yelled, "Go!".
With a large explosion the front axle came out from under the truck and went flying thru man and beast.
After the excitement had settled down he said, "O.K. let's all go eat."
I was searching your blog for anything that would interest my dad that I could copy and print for him. You know him, he's an old(80+)circus bum/fan/horseshoer Ronald L. Dyer. He's been in a nursing home since last Spring after suffering a stroke. He'll love the story about D.R. Thank you Buckles.
