Buckles, Robert Perry has asked me to send you this info re Saigon, Australia's last circus elephant..Lorraine Maynard, owner of Perry Bros Circus has had a terrible time from so called animal activists, they want to take Saigon from the owner's, and put her in with other elephants she has never met, which will be a total disaster...
Local news print media seem to be influenced by the over-powering activists, who know nothing about elephants..The activists have also been trying to get the public to boycott the circus, ( so what is new, they have been doing this for years)...
Pro circus lobbyists including myself are preparing a petition to keep Saigon where she is, and has been with the family for 50 years, she is loved and cared for, and the only home she knows..For all those who want to sign the petition details are...

your email address is not seen on the petition site. My brother has control of the site, the only info people see is your name and optional comment. They need as much help as possible here in Australia with this. This is the last circus elephant and was and still is a loner, she did not mix well with the othe elephants at all. The only person that can get near her is Perry Maynard. He has been with this elephant his whole life. He is a fantastic elephant man. So please sign the petition.

I would very much like to help, but I have already had two viruses on my machine and cannot afford another.

It reaches a level of high comedy when one annonymous (with cute name) lambastes another annoymous for being annonymous.
I've always thought annonymous comments to be much more honest than most of the signed ones. When comments here are tempered by fear of being snubbed at the next Showfolks do, then they become bland and fawning. Either that or few people here are capeable of the slightest critical insight.
I suggest that from here on out, every annonymous make up a name - any name to post ubnder, since that is obviously a huge concern. I admire Buckles for allowing comments based on their content rather than who posted them.
But none of that changes the fact that there is a family on the other side of the world doing their best to fight the monsterous worldwide AR lobby alone. Taking a minute to sign their petition - annonymously or not - at least might give them a small fighting chance.

grant to the fruit fly circus kids are great but most never end up in the circus the govt here would not give one cent to our full time Australian circuses and we have some great young kids that just have to do the best they can
