In his autobiography ALL IN A LIFETIME, Frank Buck mentions that he met Cooper and Schoedsack in Singapore and suggested locations where they could find wild elephants. The commercial success of CHANG convinced Buck that a movie version of his book BRING ‘EM BACK ALIVE would also be a money-maker, which proved to be the case.
Eric - Thanks again for sharing your love and knowledge of circus and vintage film. ~frank
