I visited Sarasota quarters in March 1955 and saw this so-called baby elephant barn.

It was then brand new and had none of the fancy decorations we see here. It must have been built during 1954 and maybe completed in early 1955.

The inside walls had been whitewashed only recently and some of the punks had white paint on their rumps from backing up against them while were still wet.

I got some good 8mm movie film showing the punks drinking out of the circular water basin.
