If you wanted a club ring, the ante was raised to four Pepsodent cartons. Other premiums included a Frank Buck lariat (5 cartons) and a Frank Buck jungle neckerchief (8 cartons.) In all fairness to Pepsodent, those kids who pestered their parents into buying Pepsodent products and who sent in the cartons to Frank Buck unwittingly bequeathed a valuable inheritance to their heirs. Buck’s 1934 radio show was only on the air from July 16th to November 16th so probably not all that many premiums were sent out. As a result, they now sell for BIG BUCKS in today’s collector’s market. |
