Barnum_&_Bailey_COURSES_DE_JOCKYS_(1902)

From Chris Berry

This very nice lithograph was used by Barnum & Bailey during its tour of France in 1902. This image - along with several others - was executed and authorized by the Strobridge Litho Co of Cincinnati - then actually PRINTED by the Courmont Freres (Courmont Bros) firm in Paris. In addition to the tour of France which started in Paris in November of 1901, during August and September of 1902 "The Greatest Show on Earth" played 12 cities in Switzerland. Since French, German and Italian are all spoken in Switzerland, I've often wondered if they used only French paper during the Swiss part of the route - or if they may have brought back some of the lithos that had been printed a couple of years earlier for use in Germany.
