I have two receipts from Lewis Goebels' Wild Animal Farm dated 1946 regarding a railroad car. Also a photo of Singh, the lion tamer. How do I send them to you

That's one of the later Barnum & Bailey tableau cages in the background, now in Baraboo. It went out on HW in 1938 and was stranded with the rest of the show in CA, thereby escaping the flames in Peru.

Orangutans are perhaps the most engaging of the great apes. But they seldom appeared in the ring on the old time field shows. They were rather common as menagerie or side show attractions.

Moreover they were the very first of the great apes brought to America.

They are highly intelligent. At Zoo Atlanta they have a touchtone computer and have actually mastered some of the visual games.

The Great Ape Trust in Des Moines has a number of apes: orangutans, gorillas and bonobos that are using computers to communicate. They have a wonderful website and during the summer you can schedule a visit. Several of the orangutans have been transfered from Hollywood. This includes a young one that was in a Capital One commercial and movies.
