Hello Buckles,



Thank you for the response in connection with the picture of Paul Fritz. John Whitfield also wrote to confirm it was him. The picture attached is of the trainer we are trying to identify. I think it is Paul Fritz. The dates tie up, but I am not 100% sure. As mentioned before, he worked for Chipperfield’s Circus in the UK in 1951 presenting a group of tigers. Is this the same person as pictured in my previous image?

Jim; The physique of that person is not close to that of Paul Fritz. Both Paul and Oscar Konyot always looked like they just escaped from Auschwitz.

This is either Paul Fritz or maybe Rudolf Valentino ,However I agree 100% on the Auschwitz Harriott theory.I will not lean toward Joe Horworth,however agree on Joe's lean and hungry look.
PS.I can't be any clearer than that.

What a shame, I was absolutley convinced it was Paul Fritz. In fact, I still think it probably is. He is the only person who ties up with the dates. Oscar Konyot appeared at Harringay Arena and Blackpool Tower after 1951. I guess he went with Konyot to RBBB. I am sending another image of Fritz taken a lot later at the Phoenix Zoo. I do not know when it was taken.

I agree with John H., that is not the Paul Fritz I knew. He did look like he had just escaped...
