This was taken in Philadelphia 6/10/78 behind the Spectrum. Looks like Winston first in line (who's the show girl Gary?), the two Ferias kids, Ted and with arms akimbo Ronnie Drum's son (can't remember his name Eric).
We had a day off in Philly that year and in the evening I drove down from the train to check on the elephants and was surprised to find commotion in the back yard. It seems there was a Rock Concert scheduled next door at Veterans Stadium and the artists (Rolling Stones?) had walked off the stage causing a near riot and a large number of their fans were exiting thru our area causing damage. I remember having a slight scuffle with a few. After the Police arrived and I was returning to the train, I thought of Louis B. Mayer's catch phrase, "That's Entertainment!" |

I think Ronnie's son was "Rick"
a great drummer who studied under Carson's Tonight Show drummer, Ed Shaughnessy.
It is indeed Ricky Drumm. Ricky's wife was the Blue Unit's school teacher on tour. Ronnie also had another son who worked concessions. And I seem to recall that Ronnie's wife worked in Wardrobe.
Mr. Woodcock; I think the showgirl was named Kitty who was from Baltimore. She dated Jewel new for a short time also I think. She was also with Circus vargus for a while.

Capt, you know ole Jewell was kinda like Elvis. He "Loved only one girl, the one he had his arms around, he loved only one girl, one in every town!"
