The Two Hemisphere bandwagon became the property of circus collector John Zwifil when he purchaced the Circus Hall of Fame in Sarasota, FL back in the early 1980's. This, and other prime artifacts, were not included in the re-sale to the "new' Circus Hall of Fame in Peru, IN. (An issue of controversy to this day)
For a while, Mr. Zwifil had the wagon stored at his warehouse in the south end of Orlando.
To get to the point, many of you know that I was employed as a professional firefighter in that area.
One of my station assignments was to Station #70, which was a short distance from the Zwifil warehouse. Early one foggy November morning, we got a call for an auto accident, which required us to drive past the warehouse.
I was driving the fire engine, and was doing so extremely cautious because of the reduced visibilty. As we passed the warehouse, I suddenly had to hit the brakes and swerve out of the way. The Two Hemisphers band wagon was parked half way out in the road, and I almost hit it!
As I understand it, the wagon is still at the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, and there are presently some issues regarding the terms of it being on display.
I have seen this wagon at three different museums: Circus Hall of Fame, Ringling Museum of the Circus and Circus World Museum.
I'm sure many others can make the above statement too.
All controversy aside --
What an enjoyable way to start a Sunday morning with coffee in hand and the beautiful new Fall 'cool' weather after all of the 90+ degree days since April 7.
The band wagon and Hemisphere pixs are great and I enjoy your comments as one who has really lived it.
You make my day --don't ever stop blogging! :-)
Jon Walker,

. . . just up the road.
