Little Nemo-18 (5-17-09)

Little Nemo-18 (5-17-09), originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

This touches off the mayhem that eventually wakes Nemo up.

The complete run of LITTLE NEMO IN SLUMBERLAND is available in reprinted versions that can be ordered through Amazon.com. If you like old circus and art-nouveau poster art, you’ll probably enjoy these as well.

One of the artists inspired by LITTLE NEMO was Maurice Sendak, who wrote and illustrated WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. (The movie version of WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE opens this coming Friday, by the way.) I'm told that at the Toon Lagoon section of Universal's Island of Adventure, Little Nemo can be seen falling out of his bed. An animated film LITTLE NEMO: ADVENTURES IN SLUMBERLAND was released in the U.S. in 1992 and is now available on DVD. (Mickey Rooney did one of the voices.)
