I can see why these are in the Museum -
Thanks for bring them to my / our attention .
One of the artists inspired by LITTLE NEMO was Maurice Sendak, who wrote and illustrated WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. (The movie version of WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE opens this coming Friday, by the way.) I'm told that at the Toon Lagoon section of Universal's Island of Adventure, Little Nemo can be seen falling out of his bed. An animated film LITTLE NEMO: ADVENTURES IN SLUMBERLAND was released in the U.S. in 1992 and is now available on DVD. (Mickey Rooney did one of the voices.)
I senced Mr. Sendaks Book " Where the Wild Things Are " ( a #1 Award Winning & My Favorate Book ) might have been Influenced & or Inspired by these Little Nemo Cartoons that are a bit before my time -
I find both of these Tallented & Successful Artist / Writers to have Quite Similar MOODS & STYLES - both from There Own Eras .
Thanks Again for the interesting additional Info Eric -
By the way ;
I have some large original Harrison Cady Pen & Ink Drawings , another Wonderfull Cartoonist from the Early 1900s in America -
