The name "Smith" has been as synonymous for sometime as the name of "Zachini". When it comes to cannon big "Shots" they can sure go the distance.
Also Smith family cannons have already been doing "Big Foot" shows for sometime.
I have seen David Smith Jr. shoot over large rides on Jimmy Drew's Midway as well as the Zachini's did in the past.
Talking to Dave Smith Sr.,I once inquired how far he could shoot. He told me shooting the distance is not the big problem, it's the landing in the net that can get. you.

Bronx Home News? Chic, you never mentioned the Bronx Home News before, neighbor.

I have not seen all the canon acts in the world, but once Tommy Hanneford brought Dave Smith, Jr. and cannon to the grandstand spectacular at the Altamont (NY) Fair.

Tommy invited me to sit on the stage; very hospitable, and I witnessed the highest cannon shot I had ever seen. I saw it twice, afternoon and night, and it was "awesome".
