Polack Bros. 1956 program:

"The Atomics were a dance school acrobatic act from Gary, IN that made the big time. There were six young people in the act and the finish was a jump-rope routine.

During my brief stay at Indiana U. my dorm floor advisor was Dave Nawrocki, who with his sister and four others were the Atomics. (Small world) I found tales of life on the Polack show more interesting than class work which would explain my brief stay at I.U. They did appear on the original Mickey Mouse Club so there might be a film or tape of the act out there. I don't think anyone in the act stayed in show business."

Thanks for the photo. Dave's on the left and I think his sister's on his shoulders. At I.U. Dave was on the gymnastics team. He said they considered his work in the circus a clown, not a professional acrobat so he was NCAA eligible. Looks like I added someone to the act but heck, it was almost 50 years ago.
