these ring curbs had interior
lighting that we fought to keep
working for years before finally
giving up and let them paint over
the plastic diamonds
We went through similar issues
on again off again for years on
the Ringling show as well
My Monte Carlo ring curb was
kept lighted for it's entire
(but short lived) career
Tommy Clark kept colored shavings
in the rings for this & a couple
other of the season's long dates
(as well as running the Blue Room)
Jim,
A great photo of a great elephant trainer, presenter, and a wonderful circus performer.
I first met Freddy in Port Arthur, Texas in 1970. It had been raining as it does in the Fall here in Texas and Beatty Cole had to switch lots as the first lot was under water.
In all the years Freddy was on Beatty Cole it was a pleasure to visit with him and Ora and the family.
What ever town the show was in he knew all the circuses and carnivals that played it.
Freddy never forgot your name when visiting.
His great family was all over the reserve seats ushering and when timed permitted more jack pots took place.
It was my great pleasure to be friend to Freddy and his family.
A true circus legend that fans will never forget.
Harry Kingston
My Grandfater always remember the names n dates from every were he was amazing for that. this is a great picture of him.
