Beckmann & Gerety Shows #11

I had to laugh when I saw this layout.
They had a clown gag on the Orin Davenport dates in 1956 which Col. Thomas introduced by saying. "Zigzag Temple has spared no expense in bringing from the Mystic East that sultry Goddess of the Nile.....Mamzelle Zorima!"
While Merle Evans played "Pajamah" the clowns entered wearing turbans and bathrobes followed by Erine Burch enrapped in a sheet similar to the lady above.
After circling the ring he would cast aside the sheet exposing a set of funnels on his chest (ala Madonna today) capped by two tassels which he managed to twirl as he advanced toward the audience.
He also wore a veil but the eyelashes were a dead giveaway and the large clown shoes made the picture complete.
Ernie was an excellent dancer and he was in good company, he would glide across the ring and twirl the tassels at a clown standing on the ring curb whose reaction would cause turban to fly off and then with a vicious "bump" the would knock down the whole alley in a domino effect.
Strangely, I can't remember how the gag ended, must have been some sort of chase.
