Another close-up shot showing some of the miniature wagons that were part of the Taggart miniature circus. (Does anyone know where it is today?) |

The Taggart miniatures are alive and well under the care of circus historian, fan, and model builder Guy Fiorenza of Rockford, IL.
Taggart, like Backstein and others, made models for other collectors so some are scattered but Guy has more and knows the most about him.

Joe's circus was set up in the basement of a local Beloit, WI department store in connection with the Optimist sponsored indoor Ayres and Kathryn Davies Circus.
My dad and I helped Joe with the setup.
If you look at the magazine picture of the inside of the tent, you will find a banner for Kitto the Printer, which was our family business, started by my grandfather in the early 1900's.
Previous to this engagement, the show was set up on the lawn of the Burpee Atr Museum for an outdoor art show.
Joe later took the show on the road showing at many area county fairs and celebrations. He built a replica air calliope with a 78 record player inside and played circus music for the bally.
Joe later had an air calliope that was used for local parades, etc. The last I knew, Guy still had the calliope.
