Buckles, There was a old Native American Man, he may have been Cherokee, not sure. Anyway,I believed they called him Harold, he worked with the Hanneford Bulls for years, actually slept in the semi with them. Do you know anything about him ? I remember Tommy telling me years ago that he had passed away.
Harold's name was actually Haru. He was picked up by the concession dept in Hawaii, then hired by Tommy's father and then Tommy inherited him. All the years he worked for them, Struppi put money aside from his pay. Then after he was diagnosed with cancer he announced that he was collecting his money (quite a sum by then) and going back to Hawaii. That's where he died.
The guy loading the elephants is Jackie. He was around the show for many years, primarily as elephant groom but was a huge help to me in managing the crew, dealing with the horses and Sabu the leopard, and a good friend.
