From Hal Guyon:
Buckles, Is that an old drive in movie screen in the background? It looks like one, Boy you don`t see many of them anymore.

From Frank Ferrante:
There is still an old drive in here in Phoenix that's about 15 miles from where this original picture was taken. ~frank

From Chic Silber:
I believe that the joint in Ft. Lauderdale where George and Vickie
had the show acts for many years may still have about 9 or so
drive-in screens in use every night as an added attraction to their odd
shopping center and flea market called the "Swap Shop " or
something.
We had 4 drive-in theaters in Sarasota when I moved down in 72
and several more in the general area.

From Buckles:
This is another picture from that same set.

I believe the drive-in-theater in Ruskin, FL is still open, & showing first run movies.

We still have one here near Columbia, SC called the "BIG MO DRIVE IN", it`s on U S Hwy 1 south of town. It shows first run movies. It`s open on Thursday thru Saturday nights. I think on Thursday nights they have a $25 a carload deal, I remember my old High School days when the drive-in`s were a $1 a car load, for 3 or 4 movies. Oh well, that`s been well over 40 years ago. It no longer uses the speakers that you hang on your window, they use a low frequency signal that you get through you car radio. The old place still has a great snack bar though. Been there a couple of times it`s pretty neat and brings back memories.

a head but we could get 3 of

our group bundled in the back

and so I just paid a dollar

How time flies
