Anonymous, it seems like Feld HAS something that Carson and Barnes has. How about the 3 Carson and Barnes elephants the Gold unit has been using for years. Why did Feld not use his own elephants to start with??? Also Frank Ferrante has his name on his comment and you use an Anonymous. When I say somthing on this blog my name is on it right or wrong and not an Anonymous as that is my own opinion. I still would like to know on this Coney Island Ringling edition are the elephants Carson and Barnes owned or Ringling owned ones??? Harry
Anonymous: All we are trying to confirm are the elephants that Ramone Esqueda presented at Coney Island. They should be Suzy, Bunny, and Minnie. That is the only question most of these folks are asking. It is not an anti-Ringling question. Suzy and company are still part of the Miller heard if I am correct. And asking where the blankets came from isn't an anti-Ringling question either. Some of us still enjoy seeing spec blankets. And Suzy goes way back on Carson and Barnes and has many fans.
with all the elephants ringling owns, i don't know why they keep booking outside elephant acts, but i'm positive they use their own elephant blankets. they don't have the kind of wardrobe they once had but the show-owned wardrobke is still the best and ringling has done elephant blankets better than anybody else that i can remember.
Thank you for your kind words, Harry. My comment on the blankets was in reference to an earlier blog about the Red Unit where it was noted that only every other elephant even HAD a blanket.
And, yes - the greater question is whether or not these are the C&B bulls. Naturally, this being Buckle's Blog the preponderance of interest would be on elephants! >grin< ~still... frank
PS - Anonymous I have always had, and always will have, a love for the Ringling show no matter who's running it.
No. Only Suzie wore that beautiful blanket for "The Star Spangled Banner" and in the finale on opening night. And she was the one who gave the interview with Bloomberg and Feld outside in the managerie before the show. (Public not invited.)
To all the circus experts out there. Is not it painfully obvious that this elephant blanket is of excellent quality and did not come from Hugo? Are you so blind or unaware that you cannot see the difference in the workmanship a Ringling blanket? This is not a Don Foote blanket, but it is quality blanket. I hope Ringling rocks in Coney Island and I hope everyone with a quality show has a great year.
A few words re "anonymous". As most of you know.. it is not easy to set-up and use an identity on this blog program. There are a lot of "hoops to jump through"!! I'm fairly familiar with the computer and I STILL have moments getting the results I intend. I'm not condoning using anonymous as a cover-up, but I do read them all as many might not be able, or want to set-up an identity. Now.. on with the SHOW!! klsdad

Not a bad blanket and head dress, did they borrow them from Carson & Barnes? Did all three elephants have blankets?

Pretty lame comment - despite the typical anti Ringling sentiment here, I can assure FF that CB has nothing that Feld would want.

Harry,
I agree with you! When someone makes a cheap shot and does not sign his name I wonder what kind of person he is.

All I care to add is agreement
that not using one's own name
is a cowardly sign and should
not be allowed
I have said things that I was
sorry for but I have also
written apologies

I can assure Anonymous that people who read this blog sometimes disagree or see things differently. But at least we know WHO we're disagreeing with.
It's long been my policy on every blog I read: ignore anonymous comments.

I agree with Jack Ryan.

So much so, that you don't even bother to comment on them

You don't need to setup a
complete blog anything to
just sign your name at the
end of whatever you type
It's REAL easy if you have
the courage to do so
Yawn.
Trolls are trolls -- those that try to call attention to themselves by posting anonymous comments on blogs to stir controversy and cause trouble.
Next?
Calling these cowards trolls
is being all too kind Jack
...AND insulting to the Trolls! ~frank
