RBBB Press Book

Scan11446, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

This is the magazine from which I lifted Mr. Kelly's photo above.
Lou Jacobs and Ernestine Clarke.

My dad introduced me to Bev Kelly years ago but I got to know him well from his regular visits to the Baraboo Museum.
Like Jack Ryan and Parley Baer he had a way of giving the impression he enjoyed every word you said.
All three would have made excellent "Good Cops" during police interrogations.

I think the three gentlemen also had that "FIRE", that creates exceptional people.

Thanks!

Hope I STILL have a little bit of that fire left!

This photo was taken in 1943 because we see the Two Jesters steam calliope. It was not on the show after that year. This pic is also on the cover of the 1944 program. So, it got good use.

I had the picture from the '44 program blown up and mounted it in a frame during the time Kim and I were taking care of Parley. Long before this, Parley had the photo mounted on a wooden cut-out, as he did with several other photos, including those of his in-laws, the Hannefords. We still have these special items from the thoughtful inventiveness of Parley Baer.

Parley was always such a gentleman and one that always had a story to tell. I remember on the Vargas show how he would sit around and share, but he would also listen. He made you feel like what you had to say was just as interesting and important to him as he was to you. I remember telling him that he would have made a perfect P.T.Barnum in a a movie about the great showman, he just laughed that hearty laugh of his.
