More Circus Music #2

Harold Ronk, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

We must not forget the Harold Ronk had his own solo LP album of circus songs. This one came out around 1962 and included music from the 1962 elephant number “Polkadot Polka.”

From the motion picture THE GANGS ALL HERE, the Busby Berkley directed Polka Dot Polka with Alice Faye and a cast of thousands (mostly polka dots)

My Harold Ronk album is at the studio being converted to a file -- ah, technology.

With all due respect to the great Mr. Ronk, the recording here of "Be a Jumping Jack" is in the creepiest song extant(and I have more than 10,000 songs on my ipod)....If I remember correctly it begins "Look over there on the back lot of the big top....a trampoline, a little boy and a clown." Ouch!

My humble opinion remains that "Be a Jumping Jack" was the low-point song of the DeMille picture, mercifully interrupted with the return of Sebastian.
