The master at work! #1 (From John Herriott)

Buckles. The photos of the liberty horses are the Stevie Carona circus Hollywood FREISIAN STALLIONS that I originally trained some five or six years ago. Last year they lost the No. 3 horse from colic and I am now training the replacement, plus some shaping up in general. Friend Dick Kohlreiser [now retired] is frequently a visitor and helper and just one of the best GOOD GUYS, so I guess its a labor of love and I am back in the saddle again. I am pleased with the routine and hope the photos give a little insight what it is all about. You can be sure that Stevie is quite proud of these beautiful Freisians as certainly she should be, They are all pure bred stallions of the finest pedigree and certainly just their presence in the ring is awesome. So to my friends across the water, we are not quite crossed off the list just yet. Hope your readers will enjoy. Thanks. Johnny

John,
Whether across the water, or this side, they can have all their fancy routines. I'll take a John Herriott act any day.

This is another example of the courage, & dedication of the Herrotts.

Great to see! You'll never be crossed off any list as you're one of the GREAT GUYS for what you've done, for the friends you've made, the knowledge you so heartily and entertainingly share, and for your huge appreciation of the heritage of the circus. You are, as well, the poet laureate of the circus!

Col Herriott is that Stevie with you in the photo? I haven't seen any of the Corona's since leaving CW years ago?

So nice to see the pictures of Johnny.

I have always compared Johnny to the great trainer,
John Gindl from Bertram Mills Circus, in England,
Which is meant as a complement to Johnny.

Sadly not too many trainers with the experience of Johnny are around anymore.

Sue.

Not for nothing, and by all mean's, do what you want, but I would keep an eye on that Dickie Kohlreiser. I've saw him in action in Evansville, hind leg walking a horse out of the ring, while the act was still working. He's a by God grandstander, who will grab every opportunity to be the Captain. If you run into a problem, before correcting the horse, you might take a peak at what "help" Dick is offering in back of the ring. LOL
Both you and Dickie are classic's. I'll love to be sitting on a lawn chair learning, as well as being entertained.
