OK, I gotta tell this story. Joe Galasso was once with the Loyal-Repinsky riding act, and when I first met him, he was doing his balancing act and working with Walter McClosky, Frank's brother, as co-assistant manager on Beatty-Cole, under Frank Orman.
One night on the road, I was driving the Beatty family, and Joe passed us. He had about 300 feet of light cable coiled and tied off in back of his trailer. Mrs. Beatty said, "Boss, isn't that great how Joe carries his light cord on back like that?" And Mr. Beatty scorned, "Oh, gee, Honey! It looks like a gypsy wagon going down the road! Gee! I'm surprised he doesn't hang his pots and pans along the sides of that thing!"
