Richard is correct. Ringling became aware of this band through Otokar Bartik. Bartik worked for the Ringlings when he was ballet master for all those big specs in the teens,Cinderella,Days of Old etc. He choreographed the dancing. He was later the ballet master at New York's Metropolitan Ballet. He was the original Richard Barstow. Fred Pfening III
I hope everyone who checks in on the blog will enjoy Gee Gee's archives before they go to the Ringling Museum. It is a Buckles Blog exclusive showing.
Mom was the ultimate pack rat and saved everything related to her circus life.
As we have been sorting thru her lifes work over the past 6 months there is not a day that goes by where we unearth some treasure related to circus history
Her collection is impressive and vast
From 1980 thru 1995 she performed and also worked as a talent agent and producer for Circuses, Fairs, theme parks and special events. Many of the photos in the initial collection were from acts looking for bookings from the events she represented. A few were historical.
We hope to forward more material for the blog in the coming months
It is an honor to Gee Gee that the blog finds her collection worthy of display
Somewhere she is smiling down.....and in her unique fashion saying "It's about time Buckles..but your a day late and a dollar short!"

This may be the band that John Ringling brought to Sarasota in the late 1920s to help promote his real estate offerings.
