Cristiani-Wallace, 13 Aug 1962 #4

4 – Less romantic but more realistic is how these kids earned a ticket to the show—carrying chairs for the seats rather than water for the elephants. After using the old blue Cristiani top the previous season when under the solo Wallace name, owner Pete Cristiani had a new, slightly smaller bale ring top made, a 120 ft. round with one 50 and two 40 ft. middle pieces.

Who made this kind of chair? I never saw them except at circuses.
I do know that the folding bible hinges were made in Rockford, IL, by one of the numerous hardware companies that located there, due to the large number of furniture and cabinet makers in the area.

My brother and I earned our way into this show in Carbondale, PA in 62. We lucked out as we helped the clowns put up the marquee that morning and it did not take long. Rained that afternoon and the tent leaked like a sieve in those blues
