The center poles and the stake driver were sent one day ahead and made ready for the next day. Beloit was a red one for the show. The leaping over the elephants and the great cloud swing are the things I remember the most. Bob Kitto
The Cristianis got involved with show ownership beginning in 1948 as partners in Floyd King’s King Bros. that became King Bros.-Cristiani for 1952-53. The family started their own show in 1954 as Bailey Bros. & Cristiani playing ballparks and making a famous trek to Alaska. It went under canvas in 1956 as Cristiani Bros. until it had a disastrous tour through Texas at the end of the 1960 season. Pete Cristiani used some of the equipment for his Wallace Bros. circus of 1961 and the title changed to Cristiani-Wallace for 1962-65 (though it may not have gone out for long if at all in 1964). Didn't they call that the Flying Squadron? I vividly remember that date in Salisbury. Bill and I were 15 years old! My how time flies!
