King of the Jungle #13

KOTJ-13, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

The progress of the circus tour is shown via a montage of shots such as this unloading scene. As was the case with many circus and jungle films made during the 1930s, animals and equipment were leased from the Al G. Barnes Circus, whose Baldwin Park winter quarters was conveniently located to Hollywood. (Income from movie work went a long ways towards paying the Barnes show’s bills while it was off the road during the winter months.)
