Although initially startled by the sudden appearance of the lion man, Frances quickly wins his trust and confidence. By the time Sidney Toler and the police arrive, she has assumed the role of Buster’s guardian and protector, and is able to coax him to accompany her as they all head out to the circus lot. |

Frances Dee married Joel McCrea. I used to see them often around Thousand Oaks, where they owned a large ranch nearby. At the Conejo Fox theatre, they'd walk in without stopping by the box office, shake hands with the manager and catch the movie for free. I'd see McCrea many times at Harold's House of Omelettes, where he breakfasted with producers and such luminaries as Richard Widmark and Walter Brennan, all fans of Harold's platter-sized omelettes.
I'm sorry this came across as anonymous. It's me. I hit something wrong and it goes in when I don't think it has. As Buckles says, "#$!*&^ computers!!"
