Col. John Herriott on the right with the bow and arrow and not sure who is on the left. Wade B?
Anonymous,
For Christ's sake!!! Are you kidding me. LOL
Wade
The guy on the left being called a novice is a gross exaggeration.
He looks like one of those guys who pay big bucks to do a FANTASY WEEKEND with celebrities.
Then they show all their friends their photo with the big stars of the major leagues.
I know from a very reliable source that of all the living things that the good Colonel had in the ring, nothing frustrated him more than trying to train this guy the basics of a pony drill.
Arriving late to catch a show, I didn't have the chance to go to the backyard so I went right to the seats, the overture had started.
Several acts into the show I was surprised to see Mike Naughton entering with 4 black and 4 white ponies. A great march started off the act, the ponies were all flashed. I did'nt know he was on the show as someone else was doing the announcements.
It was sharp. I said hello to Mike and his family at intermission time where they were doin
I said that the pony act looked good and I had no idea that he could work ponys. With a twist of his head he replied, "When growing up in New York City my family was considered the Schumanns of The Bronx." He did give credit to Dick Kohlreiser who owned the act as well as both John and Mary Ruth Herriott who helped him.
Do we have a date on the photo?
Oh,Then it is Wade.LOL.
Anonymous,
That's funny. I couldn't have done better. LOL
Wade
I am going to guess the photo is about 10-12 years old taken in Royal Hannefords backyard at the Westchester County Fair, Yonkers, New York, about 7 minutes from where I grew up in The Bronx.
John Herriott can water to run uphill.
Paul Guthiel might have been the photographer; I am not certain.
The lovely Mrs. Naughton suggested that I give up something I like in observance of LENT, which starts soon, hinting at THE BLOG. She has remarked that BUCKLES BLOG is the Internet's version of THE VIEW for circus guys.
A lot of chatter, strong opinions and a panel of larger than life personalities.
