Mike,

Although Max Weldy was credited with the 100th Anniversary wardrobe, in reality Don Foote and his staff did much of it.

The Felds were not at all happy with Max so Don and his crew from New York City were brought in to "augment" the wardrobe, props and elephant blankets. Weldy had nothing to do with the 101st Edition or with any subsequent shows.

And, Happy Birthday Buckles!

Happy birthday to a great elephant trainer and the best blog on the net.
A million thanks for all the work you put in on the blog and without it, it sure would be dull.

Happy Birthday and many a "Happy" more.
I can't start the day without my cup of coffee and reading your Blog.It is so habit forming.

Keep up the great work and maybe one of these days our paths will cross and I can shake your hand and be able to say that I have met you.

Since we are talking one-of-a-kinds (Buckles), a little Don Foote (costumes) and ladies who catch out attention (Barbara and Sally Rand), I thought a little HOLIDAY ON ICE International Unit, from 1975 would be in keeping with the day.

Happy Birthday, Buckles. You've been giving us presents for many many years -- first your wonderful circus acts, now this wonderful blog that has become such an indispensible part of the lives of so many of us.
Hope you have a great birthday and many, many more.

I'm a bit trady (guess I blew the arrows into town) but nonetheless sincere in birthday greetings. I really like what Jim A. and Henry Edgar wrote: "Happy Birthday to the man who invites us to the circus everyday" and thanks, too, because "You've been giving us presents for many, many years."
