To all, Here we go! Once again, the lawsuit filed by animal special interest groups on the treatment of circus elephants is UP! It has been put off 8 years while the extremists capitalize on the publicity value of their meritless allegations. Soon the jig will be up! The trial is to begin Wednesday! You can stay up to date with the facts by going to the CFA website www.circusfans.org. Under the CFA logo on the left, look for "search site" - key in the word "trial" and click on "go". It will bring up the links to the latest information from Feld Entertainment. This is the same site to which they will be directing reporters. The people at Feld have been kind enough to include we CIRCUS FANS in their daily updates. You will be privy to the same information as the press. Use it often. We are ready to support Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey, The Greatest Show On Earth. We have several other affirmative grass roots campaigns about to kick off in the USA! Be alert. Be ready. Be with it and for it! This is OUR day in court at last! Regards, Gary C. Payne CFA Nat'l Animal Welfare Chairman

This is from the Ringling Trial site, I found it very interesting.
================
Ringling Bros. has filed a separate lawsuit against the animal groups under the Racketeer
Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and Conspiracy Counterclaim. That litigation is
on hold and will proceed separately following completion of the current case.

Good Luck and thank you for Ringling for putting up the fight with THEIR DOLLARS!
Next time I go to the GSOE, with or without my grandson, I am going to buy extra floss, lights, etc and give them to some kids sitting in the cheap seats who's family might not be able to "splash" out.

Now, to help out the Outdoor Amusement Business Association Circus Fund, which educates the lawmakers and goes to bat for circus animal owners, send a check to:
OABA CIRCUS FUND
OABA
1035 S. Semoran Blvd., Ste. 1045A
Winter Park, FL 32792
You can designate your donation to be in honor of a living person or a memoriam for a deceased favorite circus person.
As an acknowledgment of your generosity, your name and the donation's "honoree's name" will be included in the annual listing of notable Circus Fund donors.
A great way to honor a friend and the best way to show your endorsement of circus animals.
Mike,
How much of those funds will go to the French Riviera?
Wade Burck
Wade,
I think you should direct your question to OABA's largest donors, Wayne McCary (The Big E) and Bob Commerford (Commerford and Sons, Inc. Animal Shows) They donated $7,000 last year.
Full disclosure: I have known both these gentlemen for most of my career, they are excellent businessmen and good guys.
If anyone would like the complete list you can contact OABA at OABA@aol.com
I sent a donation because I feel the OABA is doing commendable work. Wade, if you feel differently then don't send a donation.
Last month I attended the OABA Circus Animal roundtable discussion at Show Folks. A most informative meeting with many circus folks in attendance with good questions and intelligent observations.
There was a fascinating point that puts the DOT regulations in direct CONFLICT with the USDA regulations regarding rest and downtime. I do not know the nitty-gritty details at this time.
Tarzan Zerbini, PomPom Donoho, Patricia Zerbini, Heidi Herriott-Koch and several other notables were involved in the discussion which will be pursued by OABA. A catch-22 or loophole? We will see.
