First person I saw as we entered the lobby was John Goodall.
With that Panama hat he looked like Frank Buck at a distance.

Did you get a discount, having been a performer with RBBB?

Those trays of popcorn hold 30 pieces I would guess, at $8 a box that makes it almost $500 worth of corn, I guess the next step is an armed security guard at the stand.

Feld gets rid of ring curbs and brings in inflatable ring curbs. Then they get rid of elephants and bring in an inflatable elephant for the Vanishing Elephant trick. Do you see a trend here?

The Feld production team forgot that the company were the producers of Siegfried and Roy. Couldn't they get Siegfried on the phone and ask "How do you vanish an elephant?" I'm sure Siegfried would have done better than an inflatable elephant.

Wait till the Animal RIghts people here that Ringling puts an elephant in a cage and leaves it there all day and all night.

Damn, you REALLY must had had a good contract with Big Apple if you can afford to buy the popcorn.

John Goodall,
Discount!!! They told me memories were worth their weight in gold, not to expect discounts. LOL

Shazam,
They disappeared an elephant on a specially built stage. They had some problems with that deal, when they show went to Japan, and the "gaff" was left stateside.

Mr. Wade,
To be very clear on this matter, Ringling is using a Jargo elephant for the vanish from a beastwagen.

Large popcorn trays hold 27 boxes that sell for $7 everywhere I've been on Ringling. That's $189. Besides being slightly off on the count and price, Shazam was really off on his math (his total price should have been more than half what he stated). You can't make those kind of errors and stay in business if you're on a show!

When vendors sell the smaller $5 boxes, there are forty to a tray.

Shazam,
I knew what kind of an elephant it was, and what it was housed in. That's why I couldn't figure out why you wanted to drag Siegfried out of the jacuzzi to ask his advise.

no one appreciates how much effort it takes to sell those sno cones for what, $10-$15, and keep a straight face while you're pointing out what a value it is to have a souvenier too!

Many many years ago magician Jack Gwynne advertised a vanishing elephant.

Once you got in the theater you saw that it was a Jargo and was worked as a gag.

Everyone got a laugh and told their friends to go see the vanishing elephant.

Still many didn't catch how he'd accomplished the vanish so it was magic after all.

Surprised no one has noted that the fastest and "best" vanishing trick is your money from your wallet.

As I stated, I GUESS...30 boxes (not27-I was close) multiplied by $8 makes it $240 per tray, 2 trays times $240 equals $480. Still close.
I used elementary arithmetic, which is a branch of mathematics for the record.
I have paid $8. for corn in the past and Ringling does "regional pricing". I have paid $10 for a program and a few weeks later the same program is $12. Regional pricing extends to tickets, too. Circus celebrity seats climb up to $150.
Picky, picky, picky.
