The last time I saw the Hartzells was on Gil Gray, in I think about 1957.

I traveled with John Hartzell in 1976, the family owned the Wallace & Rogers Circus. The show also included Scott Riddle with Baby Tika. Tika was owned by Smokey Jones and his three sons traveled with the show. It was a Great season working for a GREAT family.

The Hartzell's were one of the first acts to open at Circus Circus in Las Vegas. From there John & Helen and three of the son's started Wallace & Rogers Circus. Their fourth son, Mike stayed at the Casino and eventually became VP of Entertainment.

Searle Simmons (of the Simru Duo and the Flying Hartzells at one point) was my dad's cousin. I'm curious to find circus/trapeze pictures of him and his wife Ruth.

Searle passed about ten years ago, and he left some photo albums with another cousin, which I've seen, but none of them contain circus photos.
