Ducrow (From Richard Flint)

Ducrow003, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Buckles,
I just added a post to "From Mike Naughton #1" that includes a link to
a YouTube of the Frenchman Lorenzo and his roman riding. It's just
amazing and deserves to be featured on your blog and not lost in a
comment under another posting:

Now I know what a sensation Andrew Ducrow must have been nearly two
centuries ago (attached is a fun print of Ducrow drawn by the
Englishman Theodore Lane from my collection). Lorenzo's act, most
definitely, is one not to be missed!!

Sue Lenz gets the credit as she sent the Lorenzo video to me,

Just to be clear, the You Tube I cite is the entire act with tricks not seen before on other Lorenzo videos. I found it after viewing the link Mike provided from Sue that shows but one of his many great tricks. Again, as I am sure Mike and Sue would agree, NOT TO BE MISSED. If you have any affinity to horse acts, you'll be astounded.

An interesting program on the Russian Circus with contemporary and historical images.

I have just checked my YouTube account and I have six different videos of Lorenzo.

Each video seems to be better than the one before.

I would love to see this amazing performer "live"

Also he has a very interesting web-site.
